Since 10 years old on the steps of her grandmother's porch in South Central L.A, you could give Rayn a comb and some Blue Magic grease and she’d create you a braided style that was years before it’s time. While in college she was pushed to use her skills to braid-out her classmates nicknames and by the time she hesitantly left Los Angeles and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, “Kali the Braid Artist” was born.
That name and title didn’t last long. Life happened. Motherhood took precedence. Her overly ambitious dreams were deferred. Traditional employment as a CPhT provided her the financial security she needed until becoming a published author showed her a way out. After writing over a dozen books, and having her name spoken in conversations with the biggest names in her genre, she realized that she had been coasting through life and not living it.
Rayn lacked purpose and the only way she would to find that purpose was by establishing a relationship with God. Serving Jehovah was not only fulfilling, it gave her life. She immediately knew it was her purpose. The scripture found at Matthew 6:33 undeferred those dreams. Welcome to the dream!
